Warrenpoint Comhaltas Hosts a Successful Ulster Fleadh
From 20-27 July 2025, Warrenpoint was transformed into a living, breathing showcase of Irish heritage – with céilís, sessions, concerts and competitions throughout the town
Across the week, 35,000 people flocked to Warrenpoint to take in the atmosphere, listen to music and take part in the various activities throughout the town.
The success of the Ulster Fleadh 2025 in Warrenpoint was measured not only in music and medals, but in something far more meaningful — community spirit. For one unforgettable week, the town didn’t just host the Fleadh — it became the Fleadh.
From local businesses decorating shopfronts to volunteers stewarding venues and welcoming visitors, the entire community played a role. Residents opened their doors, cafés extended their hours, and pubs overflowed with impromptu sessions long after the gig rig lights dimmed.
The Fleadh created a powerful sense of shared ownership. It wasn’t simply an event brought in from elsewhere; it was a collective effort driven by local pride. Schools, community groups, sports clubs and cultural organisations all lent support, reinforcing the idea that traditional music is woven into the fabric of everyday life
The Gig Rig in the Park offered a family-orientated environment, where live acts entertained audiences in the evening as the sun set over Carlingford Lough.
After such an incredible week, Warrenpoint Comhaltas were honoured to be asked to host Fleadh Uladh 2026, after receiving outstanding feedback on the 2025 festival
